At CILC we approach business coaching in two ways;
1) Training you to work with small/medium concerns that are looking for help to increase their share of the market - this is very sales and marketing of products orientated
2) Training you to help therapists and other coaches to develop a unique image/niche and grow their business from this. The 'therapist area' of business is vast and hardly touched. Every year there are thousands of new therapists and coaches qualify and they have not got a clue how to generate business. Many believe that they can stick a home built website on the internet and the clients are going to be fighting to get through the door to see them. Of course there is no fighting at the door. These potential clients are crying out for help in getting going properly.
The two areas of study obviously overlap in many ways so the course has been constructed in a modular format. There are four modules, 1, 2 & 3 are compulsary you then choose the optional fourth module depending on which path you wish to take.
Modules 1 - 3 are designed to give you just about all the information you need to set up a thriving coaching practice. It gives you a fantastic template that you can apply to all therapy and coachings businesses and many other concerns. Module 4 contains lots of business diagnostic tools and marketing strategies for selling products rather than just offering services. (Of course much of this module can be applied to coaching and therapy if you wish).
There are numerous potential clients on every high street. The business owners are under tremendous pressure from the retail giants in the shopping centres and out of town 'sheds'. Look at the number of small shops and businesses closing down - ask yourself; How many of them would still be open if they had the sevices of a Small Business Coach? The answer is speculative but it can be assumed that quite a few would still be trading.
Ask yourself another question; Why is nobody out there making money helping these traders? The answer is quite possibly that most coaches are chasing the big business and executive contracts.
Ask yourself just one more question; How many thousands of small businesses and therapists are there compared to the number of bigger conerns, (who almost certainly have got their coaches in place or on retainers)?
It does not take a lot of brains to work out where potentially the best market is and who are most likely to give you referals for making them profitable.
